This weeks topic is DNA, which made begin to ponder the question: Do caterpillers and butterflies share the same DNA? I remember being told once that during the metamorphisis stage a caterpiller will turn into a blob of jelly and completely rebuild itself to emerge as a butterfly. So do they share the same DNA?…..YES…although they use different genes located in their DNA suited for the different stages of their life.
So this little question inspired this little painting I completed today….TRANSFORM. It is an 8″ x 10″ mixed media on canvas:

This is beautiful! I’m in love with these colors
I like how you positioned the butterfly to make my eyes follow the words up and over!

Don’t ‘ya just love the little questions…that lead to such amazing and inspirational outcomes! It’s 2 in the afternoon and I have to say a HUGE Thank YOU for transforming my state of mind…I have been wrangling with a writing conundrum for the last couple of weeks. I was about to delete a section of my current writing project (an action-adventure story) about butterflies as I thought it might be too-too mystical …but I’m taking your work as a most definate sign that ‘the butterflies’ and ‘transformation’ are an important message not to be excluded!
Your beautiful work reminds me that..

Oh this is wonderful! A lovely idea and a lovely piece (really love the colors). It reminded me about jelly fish genes (DNA?) being put into strawberries. What an image that would be

I just love this Mystical Butterfly Woman! She is so alluring & mysterious to me…such a uniqueness about her. I sense that she’s part woman, part butterfly…and part mermaid! I can’t say why…I just feel it! I can see her with the mermaid’s tail…and being the guardian fairy over the Earth. I love everything about your work..and this piece especially…the colors, the talent…oh so beautiful.
Thank you for, as Royce mentions, keeping us in the mystery and for painting such a wonderful word picture of the catapillar-to- butterfly story. It helps me to know that miracles happen! Transformation, on all levels happens!…and it does so naturally. Really makes me reflect on the truth that our own natural healing & tranformational power is within us already!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with us; and thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving your generous comments : )
By the way…I also love the lady bug fairy type creatures in your blog banner. I sense a marvelous story is connected to them. Please keep me on your list for any stories you might write; or have your art connected to.
Blessings to you…

By the way Bee… I just read your “about” page and I must say… “go for your dreams girl!”… you have soulful, wonderful talents and skills and gifts to share with the world. Doubt and fear can’t hold a candle to you embracing and running with what you’re passionate about! Just know that…feel that and go let your dream run wild! There are people in this world waiting for YOU!…what only YOU can give and share and inspire! You can’t hold that back…for citizens of the planet need what we have too desparately for us to shrink away from sharing our passions! That’s what we’re here for! And when you hesitate… just remember this and read it aloud if you will:

Bee as usual this is just beautiful. I absolutely love it.
Going through Menopause (which they call ‘change of life’) I can identify with this painting.
I believe I will emerge a different person too.

As far as the idea goes I think you have hit upon one of the core parts of everyones dna – growth and change…. As far as the painting, I particularly liked the little circles with the butterfly and transform word that look like they are transforming themselves.
